MEET YOUR PSYCHOLOGIST

CHARLOTTE WHITE (she/her)
Director | Psychologist

Whether you're new to therapy or continuing your journey, I'm glad you're here. I am a Psychologist, EMDR therapist, introvert and best friend to every cat I meet.

My approach focuses on:

  • Understanding your unique story: I'm genuinely curious about your experiences and what makes you, well, you.

  • Creating a safe and supportive space: I aim for therapy to be a safe space for learning and unlearning. A space of support and challenge, where you don’t have to be anyone but yourself.

  • Finding what works best for you: I use a variety of modalities, so we can tailor our sessions to your specific needs and preferences.

  • Helping you grow: I'll gently encourage you to reflect on your experiences and challenge you to grow towards greater self-understanding and a more fulfilling life.

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

To become a Registered Psychologist I studied for 6 years. This included:

  • Bachelor Degree in Behavioural Science (BBehavSc)

  • Graduate Diploma of Psychology (GradDipPsych)

  • Master of Professional Psychology (MProfPsych)

Since completing my studies I have become a Board Approved Supervisor, and EMDR trained therapist. In true psychology nerd style, I have returned to uni to study a Master of Clinical Psychology. So watch this space.

WHATS YOUR WORK EXPERIENCE?

I started my career as a psychologist working within the criminal justice system which I absolutely loved. This then led me to roles in community mental health services and eventually private practice. I established Being Human Psychology in 2023 and have been so grateful to work amongst the tree’s in the beautiful Olinda.

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?

Anything that your grandmother enjoys as a hobby, you can assume that I do, as well. I spend my weekends pottering around the house, bird-watching/animal spotting, baking, feeling warm sunshine on my face, reading, and playing with my cats and dogs.

I also really enjoy weightlifting and spent 10 years as an avid powerlifter, maybe that applies to your grandmother too?
